Madeleine A. Booth

01 — Composer

Madeleine A. Booth is a Washington, D.C. based composer. She has written mainly for the theater, but is equally at home writing concert music for a variety of classical ensembles. Her style can be described as singer-songwriter/folk influenced, but is eclectic and wide-ranging.

02 — Lyricist

Miss Booth is also a lyricist, writing lyrics for many of her projects, in addition to collaborating with other D.C. based composers. Her lyrics are expressive, dramatic, and poignant, pulling audiences in with her evocative and emotional phrases, entertaining and comical rhymes, and occasional ingenious twists.

03 — Book Writer/Librettist

In addition to writing music and lyrics for many of her compositions, Miss Booth has also written the libretto or book for multiple projects. Her writing balances humor and drama, inciting many lighthearted laughs, shocked gasps, and occasionally emotional tears with her work.

04 — Music Director

Miss Booth is an experienced educator and conductor. She taught K-12 in Idaho public schools, college students at the Catholic University of America, and adults in a choir in Maryland. She has music directed a number of plays and musicals, and continues to direct choirs, cantors, and bands at her position as Director of Music & Worship at a catholic church.

05 — Mezzo-Soprano

Having sung in various choirs, bands, and as a soloist, Miss Booth is an experienced Mezzo-Soprano. Her chameleon-like voice excels in classical repertoire, musical theater, modern pop, and even jazz.
